TIMOTHY STODDARDTimothy Stoddard is an Idaho native currently residing in New York. He has sung the roles of Hymen in The Fairy Queen and Ben in The Telephone, both in Chicago.  He has sung the role of Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with the Metropolitan Opera Guild, the title role of Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito with dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, the roles of Bushy in The Ballad of Baby Doe, Sergeant of Police in Pirates of Penzance, Wagner in Faust, Hortensius in La Fille du Regiment, and ll Commissario in Madama Butterfly, all with Opera Idaho. Recently, he sang the role of Martin in The Tenderland with Chelsea Opera and performed as a young artist at this season’s Lucerne Festival under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. He was also recently a featured soloist with Det Norske Solistkor as a part of Oslo’s Ultima Festival and later the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival, where he performed in a concert setting of Kaija Saariaho’s opera L’amour de loin under the guidance of Ms. Saariaho.

Timothy’s concert and recital works include soloist in the Candide Suite for the Boise Philharmonic, featured artist in the Saugatuck Chamber Music Festival, and collaborator in a recital program of The Canticles and songs of Britten in Chicago.  This January, he gave the New York premier of the art songs of Philip Hayden in recital at the National Opera Center. He has participated in an array of masterclasses featuring professionals such as Barbara Hannigan, Lorenzo Malfatti, Daniel Ferro, Thomas Muraco, Jake Heggie,  and Joyce Castle.

His vocal awards include the NATS Competitions of both Chicago, IL and Cheney, WA, as well as being a recent grant recipient from the Arleen Auger Foundation.  Timothy has a BA in Vocal Performance from University of Idaho and MM in Vocal Performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts-Roosevelt University. He is a student of Neil Semer.
