Winter Music Programs Underway at SoBe Music Institute
Announcing our new Music for Adults After-Work Program!  And the Fun is Just Beginning at SoBe Music Institute's Music for Youth Winter & Spring Programs.

 MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA - January 22, 2008 - Registration for SoBe Music Institute's popular Music for Youth After-School Program is underway now and programs run through May 30, 2008
 
The After School Winter Program continues through March 29, taking a week off for Spring Break and then starts up again with the After School Spring Program April 7 through May 30.  There are 3 different program groups available for children of all ages and levels:  Pre-K groups meet Tuesdays & Thursday between 2:15 and 3:15 PM as well as Wednesdays & Fridays between 3:45 and 4:45 PM.  After-School groups for children ages 6-12 meet Mondays & Wednesdays 3:45 through 5:15 PM. Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:45 through 5:15 PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 through 7:00 PM. In addition, SMI is also now registering Weekly Teen Group Classes (ages 13-17) contact Office Manager Silvia Thornton for more information at (305) 674-9220.
 
Piano3These Music for Youth Programs are designed to introduce children to the wonderful world of music through the use of unique interactive computer music programs, musicianship classes, private instruction and performance activities. Our instructors worked with the children and teens to promote learning and experiencing music without intimidation. The program concludes in May with concert open to the public. The unique and multifaceted immersion program is designed not only to be fun and exciting, but also to help the students develop a deepened sense of musical phrase, structure and form, as well as improve their performance skills. There will be a Benefit Concert at the Colony Theater on Lincoln Road, February 3 at 7:00PM to help provide scholarships for children from low-income families.  The Event is presented by Collins Park Neighborhood Association and includes a concert by Canada's Brampton Symphony Chamber Orchestra and a Post-Concert Reception at Britto Central, Catered by Quattro Restaurant with wine by Palandri Winery of Australia music by the BSO Jazz Trio. 
 
SMI is pleased to announce the beginning of its  Music for Adults, After-Work Program which is on the same Winter/Spring schedule as Music for Youth.  After-Work Programs meet Monday & Wednesday Evenings at various times between 5:30 and 9:00 PM.
 
performance2After-Work Program includes, musicianship, theory, All instruments or voice lessons, performance ensemble opportunities, amateur and professional workshops and master classes in Classical Studies, Jazz Studies, Pop/Rock/Folk Studies and General Studies.  For more details on classes available visit our After Work Page at www.sobemusic.org.

BACKGROUND:  our high-quality music immersion program offers instrumental and vocal instruction, as well as music theory, musicianship, music appreciation and performances by instructors who are professional musicians. Our goal is to offer the program to students who will benefit based on talent, desire and effort regardless of the family's socio-economic situation; we provide free high-quality programs to children from disadvantaged families and at minimal cost for children who receive free or reduced lunch at school.
