MusicianshipMUSIC APPRECIATION (Continuing Education)

Tuesday 7:00-8:30PM (ages 17 & up)

This course is intended to broaden a person's development as a human being, by understanding the art of music as it has documented and expressed our world and its history. The course hopes to enhance the student’s appreciation of many types of music to which one might not ordinarily be exposed. "Music is like cuisine" - Appreciating various musical styles, like food, sometimes takes exposure and repetition to develop a taste for it. However, when you get it, you will enjoy it the rest of your life...and enhancing life is something for which we all strive. Students will gain a contextual understanding between historical events and the music of the times (for example, W.A. Mozart and Thomas Jefferson were eighteenth century contemporaries and shared similar ideas) and to see how the arts, and music in particular, is the chronicler of the times.

ActingACTING

Wednesday 7:00-9:00 (ages 17 & up) – tuition $150
(no class July 4 - final class on Thursday, July 5)

This 4 week class will enhance the abilities of professional actors as well as lawyers, models, singers or anyone interested in enhancing their performance and/or public speaking skills.  Emphasis is on a vital part of actor training: a reliable and repeatable technique, a 'way of working' on auditions, scenes, monologues and roles to keep the actor working or enhance general public presentation skills.

Private instruction and coachings available in all artistic disciplines (call office for rates).
